What's New4 : PHILADELPHIA: KING TUT AND SO MUCH MORE

PHILADELPHIA: KING TUT AND SO MUCH MORE

King Tut is returning to North America. The child King has not been seen here since the 1970's. And he is returning to a city having a rebirth of its own, Philadelphia. Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of Pharaohs will be visiting Philadelphia from February 3 through September 30, 2007. Although the Tut exhibit would be reason enough to visit Philadelphia, there is so much more not to be missed in the city.

History buffs have long known Philadelphia as the birthplace of the United States. Do visit Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, the Franklin Institute and the many art museums in the city. But, there are so many hidden treasures not to be missed. Did you know that Philadelphia has no tax on clothing? Not only can you find the highest end fashion labels here, but Philadelphia is also a mecca for vintage clothing. Among the hotspots for vintage clothing shopping are Decades Vintage, Retrospect, Antiquarian's Delight and any more.

Tired of shopping? Hungry? Philadelphia is home to some of the best international cuisine available. Choose between Italian, French, Greek, Polish, etc. My favorite are the BYOB's (bring your own bottle). Generally small, neighborhood spots, many Italian bistros, you bring the wine and they supply the wine glass and corkage, many without a fee! And don't forget to try a Philly cheese steak or two while there. You decide whether Geno's or Pat's King of Steaks serves up the best cheesesteak in the city.

Tired? Head to one the many hotels Philadelphia has to offer. You will be pleasantly surprised by the prices. Or, chose the popular Philly Overnight @ Hotel Package. This package includes two night's hotel accommodations, free parking, and a coupon book with discounts to restaurants, shops and area attractions.
